Guide to Categorizing and Tagging Tours on Plan Fam Trips

As part of our Plan Fam Trips, you can showcase your tours to a global network of travel agents and enthusiasts.

But how can you make sure you get them in front of the right people?

Correctly categorizing and tagging your tours enhances visibility and matches your offerings with the right audience.

Below, you’ll find guidance on how to use our categorization system to describe and promote your tours effectively.

1. Primary Categories (Trip Categories)

These categories reflect the core structure or the primary focus of the trip. Each fam trip should belong to one primary category:

  • Cruise: Experience the joy of life on the water. Cruise trips provide luxurious accommodations and the opportunity to explore multiple destinations in one journey.
  • City Tours & Day Trips: Perfect for quick getaways or exploring urban gems. These tours cover everything from city landmarks to nearby attractions, all within a day's reach.
  • Resort: Resorts are about indulging in the comfort and activities of top-notch resorts. Ideal for travelers seeking a relaxing or family-friendly vacation with all amenities at hand.
  • Safari: Immerse in the thrill of the wild. Safari tours offer close encounters with nature and wildlife, guided by experts in some of the world’s most renowned natural habitats.
  • Active: For those who love to move. Active tours focus on adventures like hiking, biking, and running, designed to keep travelers engaged physically while exploring new landscapes.
  • Multi-Day: Broaden horizons with our multi-day tours. These are crafted to provide an in-depth experience of a region or theme, like food & wine, culture, and history.

2. Secondary Categories (Tags)

Tags provide additional thematic or experiential descriptors that can overlap across primary categories. Fam trip providers are able to select up to 3 tags to complement their tour listing. They should choose the three that best describe their fam trip offer. Here are our currently available tags:

  • Luxury: Offers an escape into extravagance and exclusive services, ensuring a high-end travel experience.
  • Educational: Engages participants with informative content and experiences that promote learning and personal growth.
  • Cultural: Connects travelers with local customs and traditions, offering deep dives into the communities and culture of the destination.
  • Beach: Focuses on coastal delights, from sunbathing to water sports, ideal for lovers of the sea.
  • Food & Wine: Explores regional cuisines and wine trails, perfect for culinary enthusiasts.
  • Eco-friendly: Emphasizes sustainability and responsible travel practices to minimize environmental impact.
